For several years we had a volunteer who also had a Toro "Dingo" machine similar to the picture to the left. By having a small machine like this to get into backyards and tight spaces it was a huge benefit to the other volunteers. Tree trunks and large limbs can weigh 100s of pounds and this machine can move them easily. The volunteer mentioned has moved to Texas so we no longer have access to this type of equipment so we are looking to obtain one for our own use.
We are looking to raise $15,000 to purchase this machine and a trailer for transport to our jobs. We have already raised funds for this new equipment (Overall cost of around 40,000) and we are looking for help to cross the finish line. Between now and Veteran's Day (Nov 11) we also have an opportunity for some matching funds based on donations received!
There are many benefits for this type of equipment. Being able to access tight spaces with this type of a machine allows us to do jobs where there is a great deal of material (wood to be removed). There is also the element of safety and well being of our volunteers who then do not have to lift and carry 100s of pounds of material.
VDR - we own all of our equipment with no debt so we are working with what is provided to us. We do not make any purchases until we have the funds to cover the costs!
